A Cloud Kingdom Classic Riddle

From Lair of the Sphinx

My Master's armored side to side,

But sometimes sand gets in,

To irritate his tender hide,

And that's when I begin.

I grab the pest and hide it deep,

Inside a white cocoon.

Forevermore the pest I keep

Within a precious moon.
